First edition, second printing of this novel based on the author’s illustrated comic stories first published in the popular American magazine Liberty during the 1920s. The novel consists of fictitious letters from an “interior decorator”, slang for bootlegger in the era of Prohibition, to his fiancée.
Bert Green (1885-1948) was an American cartoonist, animator and writer.
184 pp. Illustrated by the author. 8vo, orig. boards. Previous owner's ink stamp to front endpaper. Very good in price-clipped dust-jacket (a few nicks; tear to top of rear panel; in protective clear, removable sleeve). Front board, dust-jacket and frontis illustrating Marg, the fiancée in her stylish flapper outfit. An attractive and charming book.
