Reprint (first published by Rutledge, 1884). This is a charmingly illustrated book on flower symbolism. Kate Greenaway (1846-1901) was one of the great illustrators of children's books in the mid-Victorian period. Her work was promoted and praised by John Ruskin.
80pp., colour illustrations throughout. Original illustrated boards (15.5x12 cm), rubbing/wear to extremities. Binding cracked at p. 48, but still firm. Browning to prelims; owner’s name in pencil to front endaper. Occasional light spotting. A very good copy of a charming book.
